Pro-or grants a new contract to
inrs for pilot plant
RESSOURCES MINIÈRES PRO-OR INC. is pleased to announce that it has signed a 3rd
contract with l’Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) for
the construction of a complete financed $1.5 million pilot plant in Quebec City.
This is the third phase of the chromite ore enrichment and platinum group metals
(PGM) extraction research program undertaken by INRS for Pro-Or.
This new technology is essential to bring Pro-Or’s Menarik chromite and PGM
deposit into production. Over the last three years, Pro-Or financed this INRS
program which offers a very promising metallurgical approach to the exploitation
of Menarik-type deposits. The new technological process has been successfully
proven in laboratory and two patents have been filed in U.S. and Canada to
protect the intellectual property.
Pro-Or has entered into a strategic cooperation agreement with General Motors
Corporation (GM) and Amalgamet Canada (AMC) relating to the development and
commercialization of new technological processes developed for Pro-Or by INRS.
GM and AMC believe these new processes offer substantial cost benefits in
relation to current ferrochrome and PGM production cost. It will also help
increase the availability of chrome for stainless steel applications and PGM’s.
It should help GM control costs by maintaining availability and reducing the
price of raw material used in vehicle production.
The Menarik ore deposit, located near Radisson in the James Bay area, is one of
the most important PGM-bearing chromite deposit in North America.

Strategic cooperation agreement between General Motors Corporation, Amalgamet
Canada and PRO-OR.
RESSOURCES MINIÈRES PRO-OR INC. is pleased to announce that it has entered into
a strategic cooperation agreement with General Motors Corporation (GM) and
Amalgamet Canada (AMC) relating to the development and commercialization of two
new technological processes developed for Pro-Or by the Institut National de
la Recherche Scientifique (INRS).These processes, patented by Pro-Or, are
related to the enrichment of chromite ore and the production of mixed platinum
group metal chlorides. Pro-Or will also use these processes to treat ore from
its Menarik property.
The agreement also contains the following clauses:
GM manufactures vehicles containing components made of high-chromium steel and
platinum group metals (PGMs);
Pro-Or, AMC and GM believe the new processes offer substantial cost benefits vs.
the current production costs of ferrochrome and (PGMs). They will be introduced
to suppliers of high-chrome steel to assist in GM’s ongoing supplier
cost-reduction efforts. This will also help increase the availability of chrome
for stainless steel applications and PGMs to aid in maintaining reasonable
availability and pricing of material used in the production of vehicles.
Another residual affect of this initiative is the expectation of job creation in
Quebec, where Pro-Or has proposed to establish initial operations once
commercial viability of the processes has been confirmed and the Menarik
property is brought into production.
The signature of this agreement occurs as Pro-Or is initiating its third and
final phase of R&D with INRS. The upcoming construction and commissioning of a
pilot plant aim to clearly demonstrate the profitability of the technologies
and the Menarik ore deposit .
The Menarik ore deposit, located near Radisson in the James Bay area, is one of
the most important PGM-bearing chromite deposit in North America.

PRO-OR:
Important association between Pro-Or & Amalgamet Canada
RESSOURCES
MINIÈRES PRO-OR INC. is pleased to announce that it has entered into a long term
exclusive marketing agency agreement with Amalgamet Canada, a Division of
Premetalco Inc. The company is a subsidiary of Amalgamated Metal Corporation
PLC, a multi-national group involved in metals trading headquartered in London,
England.
Amalgamet Canada has a long history in the marketing of non-ferrous metals
industrial minerals, specialty metals and chemicals to a wide variety of
industries worldwide. Amalgamet’s objective will be to market Pro-Or’s Menarik
chromium and platinum group metals (PGM) production and to target companies in
the Automotive, Ferro Chrome, Stainless Steel and PGM sectors worldwide.
Pro-Or has registered patents on the chromite enrichment (upgraded chromite) and
on PGM extraction. Amalgamet and Pro-Or believe that the Menarik chromite
project, with its large potential resources combined with availability of the
upgraded chromite (with Cr:Fe ratios of 10 to17:1), will be an important source
of supply in a tight chrome market.
The Menarik deposit, located near Radisson in the James Bay Municipality, is one
of the most important PGM-bearing chromite deposits in North America.
